Our professional fees are generally calculated with reference to the time spent on a matter, the complexity and nature of the work performed, and the level of skill and expertise required. In line with the Legal Practice Council’s guidelines on the reasonableness of fees, factors such as urgency, the importance of the matter, the practitioner’s seniority, and prevailing market rates are taken into account when determining the appropriate hourly tariff.

Standard hourly rates range between R 2 950.00 and R 4 500.00 per hour, or part thereof, reflecting these considerations.

Disbursements are billed separately.

Chairing Disciplinary and Related Hearings

Half-Day Hearing (up to 4 hours)
R 10,000.00 – Covers attendance, preparation proportionate to the matter, and facilitation of the hearing session.
Full-Day Hearing (up to 8 hours)
R 25,000.00 – Covers attendance, reasonable preparation, and facilitation of a full-day hearing session.

The drafting of the written outcome is not included in the day fee and is billed at the applicable standard hourly rate.

Additional Charges (where applicable)
▪ Extended deliberations are billed at the standard hourly rate.
▪ Travel is charged at R5.00 per kilometre.
▪ Document-heavy or complex matters may attract a customised fee quotation.

All fees exclude VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate.
